Good story, but wish it was a bigger book with hard cover or available on kindle. Didn't realize it was probably an actual old print of story.
This book really moved me as it told the story of a family standing for what they believed against their family, neighbors, church and government. It starts a little slowly but stick with it and be encouraged by their faith and their faithful God.

JUST EXCELLENT....MAKES ONE APPRECIATE WHAT OUR ANCESTORS HAD TO FACE WHEN COMING TO AMERICA.
This book is extremely inspiring. The grace of God was evident in the life of this family in the face of persecution. I was especially impressed by Anna, who held together her family of 6 small children while her husband was in America. She displayed her faith in God while her relatives and village were all against her during the hardships of WWI.
Had a lot of difficulty getting into this story. Writing style is rather stilted.
I think this is my third copy. I've got to quit loaning and forgetting who I loan to.
