Oh my.... you've read the book blurb, so I'll get right to it. This is one blazing read. Never underestimate JC and her ability to write a story that will have you go from slack jawed to swoon in a blink. I still maintain a good book is made by good narration and wow does she nail it.There wasn't one thing I didn't like about this book, told from a dual POV, it's Ava and (omg) Kellan. The twists and turns are perfectly executed and the story had such a great flow. Their banter back and forth, I loved the tension between them and then the added sexual tension. Both their backstories are woven seemlessly into the plot and what you get is a snapshot of people you could relate to. It was hot, tense, intense, and loaded.
I can't say enough good things about this book. I'd love to see another story that pulls in Kellan's brothers.. Ryder and Cash. These Boyd brothers... trouble in the best kind of way.
This book gets much more than Five glowing stars from me.

Beautiful Distraction edition by JC Reed Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
For Ava and Kellan the bantering and jibes back and forth can only lead to fireworks! With Kellan's recent loss causing him to re-evaluate his life choices, makes running into Ava by unexpected circumstances the perfect setting to do so, eventually.
This is a heartfelt story of the proverbial bad boy that turns out to not be so bad. I sure wouldn't mind helping him with his horses!!!
The story moved along at a great pace, keeping the interest all the way through! I can see myself going back to re-read again and again!
While the story held promise, the author spent little time with character development, plot development, etc. Why bother when you can just have the main characters perform lots of sex and torment each other until the LOVE is revealed at the end. I forced myself to finish this piece of s$#&t because I was mad at myself for buying it. Should have stuck with writers who have proven their worth in this genre like Kristen Ashley. No more by this author for sure.
Ava has a fender bender with a very expensive car. The owner seems like a rich obnoxious jerk. While she feels chemistry she will not give in. Kellan propositions her and he thinks it's normal. They part ways
Months later ava and her friend go on a road trip to see their favorite band. Car trouble leaves them stranded in a desolate area. When ava goes for help the person who answers the door is her rich obnoxious jerk, who she has been fantasizing about.
They stay with him and that is where it gets interesting. The chemistry between these two characters is sizzling. The surprise waiting was worth the read. Love jc reed all her books are steamy and full of alpha males. Definitely worth reading.
I can't get past chapter one of this book because I don't understand the logistics of the main character's road trip with her friend. She's driving to Montana? From NYC? What real New Yorker calls it NYC, instead of the borough they're from? Also, who drives to Montana from New York? Then they get caught in a wind storm that is the effect of a hurricane. The friend in the story even brings up that it's unlikely that a hurricane, which generates over water, would affect them so far inland. So... why is that the storm that affects their trip? Would a snow storm, or even just a bad thunderstorm, have been harder to write about?! Then again, I'm not sure how they got lost in the first place with the GPS (or satnav? where is this author from?!) and no stops at the "petrol" stations occurring. Petrol? Okay. So clearly the characters got lost in the author's bewildering imagination. End of my readership.
Here's the thing, I really hated the characters in this book.
The guy's a pushy jerk...you know the "I can get any girl I want and I want you" guy. We know he's hot, because the author keeps reminding us, but he's also rude and pushy. I was put off from the first chapter.
The girl is one of those women incapable of controlling her emotions. If I have one book pet peev, it's female characters the author keeps telling the reader is "strong" or "independent," but one look from a hot guy and she turns into an bimbo. For example, she doesn't drink...but just having shots placed in front of her at a bar is too much "peer pressure" for her to resist...It's freaking ridiculous.
And the girl's best friend? She's one of those character's that no one would be friends with in real life - her sole purpose as a character is just to set up the plot by being a terrible friend. The author needs the two main character's to be stuck alone together?? Well naturally the "best friend" is going to ditch the heroine to go on a road trip and leave her BFF alone in a cabin with a basic stranger...because that's what best friends do.
And I figured out the "twist" in the second chapter -- seriously, this book was just poorly thrown together.
On the outside, Kellan is known as K. Taylor, gorgeous singer of a rock band. When Ava meets him, his name is Kellan Boyd and this guy is a sexy mouthed cowboy at heart. Great story and it's hard not to fall for Kellan.
Beautiful Distraction Added bonus to the book was the book "Surrender your love". Jett Townsend works for a large wealthy investment firm and he has his sights on Brooke Stewart. Brooke works for a very small real estate firm and is swept into a new position as personal assistant to none other than Jett Townsend, who swoops in and her 2nd day on the job, Jett takes her to Italy on a business trip. The two have instant chemistry and Jett sets out to have an arrangement with Brooke..an assistant and all the sex they want with no feelings. The contract is torn up a couple days later as both are quick to have feelings for each other.
When Brooke arrives home from Italy, there is paperwork and an attorney calling to discuss legal issues with Brooke. Turns out, Brooke is the only heir to property in Italy, the property her current lover and boss wants to buy for 40 million. Brooke is about to have her heart crushed as she finds out her boss was simply using her to get the Italian property.
