(Spoiler alert: I will allude to events from the first book in the series below.)Boone and Ophelia have taken control of Hansarda: Boone is the new king, and Ophelia is very pregnant. So when a new danger emerges, it is Boone's sister, Jenny, who must take the mission--to collect, protect, and take the resistance's chief technology expert to a safe hideout. She is eager to go back into space and dangerous adventures--right up until she meets the inventor and they discover a disconcerting attraction for each other. And they have trouble finding quiet moments to figure things out because the Sanctify forces have also discovered the identity of Mac, and they are sparing no effort to capture him first. Nothing goes smoothly in the mission, from the first moments when the bad guys show up just minutes behind Jenny!
This is a fine bit of space opera, with a lot of heat generated between the two lead characters. If you've read the first book, you'll enjoy this one, too. (And if you haven't read the first one, go get it before taking this book on; it'll be very helpful to understand the context of this universe.)

Once again Katee Robert take us on a VERY imaginative sci-fi journey. I thought she did an excellent job adding new planets, guns, spaceships, aliens and so much more. This is where I feel the author's talents really shines through.
This is Jenny O’Keirna’s story, she is the sister of the hero, Boone from book 1, Queen of Swords. Jenny is a kick-ass heroine and my favorite character of the read. She was sent on a mission to take and keep Mac safe. Mac is a genius and makes special weapons to help take down the evil Sanctify group. He also happens to be the hero of this read. These two with the help of a few friends and shipmates travel from planet to planet to outrun Sanctify. There was some really good action scenes that kept this story moving along nicely.
The heat level was okay for me and there were a few steamy scenes, but I felt that there was instances where things should have been a bit more sensual. I also did not feel the connection between Jenny and Mac as much as I would have liked.
I’m not sure if this is the last book in the series, if it is I feel the ending could be a whole lot more. Queen of Wands does end on a happy note, but it would have concluded better if there would have been an epilogue.
My overall thoughts are that I did enjoy this read, but not quite as much as I enjoyed book 1, Queen of Swords. I’m REALLY hoping that Katee Robert writes another book for this series that would wrap everything up better and answer some of the questions I still have concerning this series.
Queen of Wands is the second book in the Sanctify series and I do recommend reading book 1, Queen of Swords first.

I have to admit, the title kind of threw me off a bit. Looking at the title, Queen of Wands, I pretty much assumed that she would turn out to be a Sorceress or Witch with like wicked, mad powers. Turns out the reference was to Tarot Cards'. Though I was a tad bit disappointed that was not the case, I was not disappointed in this read, other than wishing I had read book 1, Queen of Swords. In retrospect, had I read the first I would have realized the title was referring to the tarot card. Robert has a true knack for pulling readers in from the very first page, keeping them on the edge of their seats til the very last.
After being what feels like being held prisoner for her own good, Jenny O'Keirna jumps at the chance to get away from her overbearing brother, and the planet he now rules, Hansarda. Afterall, all she needs to do is pick up some genius that Sanctify's new leader is trying to get their hands on, secrete him away to a private location, during which find some time to get herself laid and have a good time. Those plans are shot right out the sky from the moment she sets foot on the planet Mac Flannery is on and she learns that not only is Sanctify one step ahead of her, but Mac is much more than just some geek playing around with his gadgets. He turns out to be tall, dark and deadly, having killed more than one of the men who have come to kidnap him without shedding even a drop of blood. But the real danger is the effect he seems to have on her and the fact that he sees right through every single one of her masks she puts on for the world.
Mac Flannery is more than happy to stay secluded away from the entire universe, creating as many and more advanced weaponry he can to use against Sanctify. So it is not an easy feat being forced to call for transport off of the planet, until he learns who has been sent, Jenny O'Keirna. A very complex of a person, a puzzle in which he has a great desire to solve. He just never planned on that puzzle turning his entire world upside down. And for their adventures to take him to the very planet every male of every species grew up having wet dreams about. On their attempts to flee Sanctify, it always seems Sanctify is three steps ahead of them. The reason why ends up being a betrayal that will cut Jenny bone deep in the end.
Seems that the ties that bind are a very deadly thing in this series'. As it turns out, the new leader of Sanctify has a personal score to settle with the ruling family of Hansarda, and hates all diviners to the very marrow of his sole. Readers will be taken aback upon learning of his familial ties.
Non-stop action from one page to the next, characters to both love and relate to and more than just a little bit of bloodshed. A read to be enjoyed by both paranormal and Sci-Fi fans alike.
Gotta love a book thats has so much action, is funny and sexy. I hope there is more to come.
This one wasn't quite as amusing/thrilling as Queen of Swords, but that may be because I liked Ophelia as a character much more than Jenny. I also wasn't too crazy about Mac - his character was not as easily defined as the others, and what there was, I wasn't too interested in reading about (e.g. his tendency to run and hide, literally in a hole, for years rather than any other option). However, Jenny's story was still fun to read. The author does a great job writing realistic and relatable characters (usually), and sets a fantastic scene/world with enough description that you can picture the events/scenery like watching a movie. The romance is in-your-face, which is to be expected here, but the action and characters add much to the storyline too. So if that's not your thing, try the Sanctify books anyway, you might find just enough of what you're looking for to make the read worthwhile.
